English Assignment - Eiffel, Tolong! (Igretia Diffa)

Hello everyone !

I will tell you an exciting story from a novel  that I’ve ever read. The title is Eiffel, Tolong!. Actually I don’t like read a novel. Because I feel bored and nothing can I do to spend my free time, so I borrows a novel to my friend. I just want to read a novel if the novel is Teenlit, because the collection of novel is suitable for teenagers.

Okay this is about the novel. The novel created by Clio Freya, published by Gramedia Pustaka on March 2009. This novel tell about the adventure of the girl named Fay Regina Wiranata, she is 3th grade senior high school.

One day she went to Paris for French language courses for 2 weeks, alone. Actually, she should go there with her mother for a work. But her mother’s office change her mother’s ticket to trip to Brazil. Fay’s ticket can not be changed, so she must go there alone for course. She will stay at Jacque dan Celine’s home in Paris. Fay feel so happy because she think can do everything like a holiday in Paris. 

But everything changed when she met a man in plane, his name Andrew. She was kidnapped while walking around the Eiffel Tower. Andrew want Fay doing everything he said to her.  Andrew choose Fay because her face is almost similiar with a Malaysia’s women named Seena, his enemy’s nephew, Alfred Whitman.  Andrew told her to pretending to be a Seena, so he gave her a lot of training like push-up, dress up, diet, and talk like a original Seena. While she in a training, she got a mistreatment from him.  Fay threatened by him. Fay very miserable, exhausted, and depressed. She should lived with double life for 2 weeks, language courses in the morning and exercise to be Seena in the afternoon. 

During her training to be seena, she fell in love with Andrew’s niece named Kent. The story is more complicated when Reno, her friend in French languange courses, loved her and opposed her relationship with Kent.

The climax occurs when Fay disguised as Seena to be a spy in  Alfred's house. Fay must be careful, so her diguise is not known by him. But in the end his disguise failed and she was in danger. Andrew, Kent, and Reno were help Fay and then there was shouting accured. Finally Fay was saved and go home to Indonesia. But her life still in danger because Andrew still disturb her and even her family. I don’t know what will happen next with her life.

I think this novel is entertaining and tense. The structure of sentences is easy to understand and can make the reader imagined every part of the story. Not only that, the story of love is complicated because there are 2 man who loved Fay and fight for they love. This makes the story more exciting and give the romance sense. After I read this novel, the story always in my mind because I guest how the next of the story and how a suck end of the story.  But there are too many adult scene that described into a detail. I don’t like the ending of this story,  like a hang story. Some people said that there is the continue story of this novel titled “From Paris to Eternity”, and this is the cover...

This Novel needs the best imagination and fiction idea to be read. There are two reasons. The first reason isn’t the theme fits with this era. The second is it has been written of someone who has high imagination.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Marisa who was upset because her parents’ forced her to come for her father’s company birthday. The main reason she didn’t want to come because she would meet her ex-boyfriend, Michael with his new girlfriend, Selina who was her sworn enemy. Frustrated by the situation, Marisa was crying in front of a painting, and muttering if only she could disappear. And she was right - completely disappeared. She was thrown back in time 20 years ago. When she hasn’t yet born and her parents weren’t dating.

 

Together with Wiliam, small children whom she met in the past, by its conclusion, she could return to 7 days from the day when the magical paintings on display for the first time. Wiliam was a stubborn and closed boy. His parents had died because of car accident. Even so, Wlliam was a smart kid for his age. At the age of eight, Wiliam was sitting in 4^th grade. He lived with his busy aunt. This boy really hasn’t sensed of humor, but over time Wiliam melted with Marissa. Every day they went along. Every morning Marissa drove Wiliam to go to private lessons. Then, she went off to college of her father and mother to check on them.

 After Wiliam has completed of the private lessons, they both ate the side of the road, or even just walking around. Those days also she used to knit relationship parents who have no relationship to love each other. July 6^th, 1988, Albatross Building opened. Marissa intended to return to the building to see the painting that had brought her to this year. She met her young father and hugged him for the last time she was in that day. Diana who saw it was angry, thinking that Ferry affair, but Marissa would be their children. Then, Diana left Marissa and Ferry. It would make contact with each other. They broke up and that means they wouldn’t marry, and Marissa wouldn’t going to be born into the world. Marissa who was telling all of it to Wiliam suddenly felt cold and weak to stand up and have not fainted when William took her to the bed. Wiliam was holding her forehead and hands. Marissa was getting colder, but the air in the room was very hot. Immediately, Wiliam ran to Ferry’s house. He told Ferry that Ferry would have to say his true feelings about Diana. Feel advised by a child, Ferry had his motorbike and went to Diana’s home. Initially, Diana did not want to meet Ferry. However, Diana's father pleaded with her and Diana was willing to meet with Ferry. Eventually, they become a couple, again. Marissa had already looked healthier. Before going into the actual, Marissa and Wiliam were playing together on the beach. They parted ways for a while. 

Marissa back to her time and found the painting was gone. She met Michael and Selina. However, she didn’t hate them anymore. Marissa hugged her parents. After that, she headed for the dining room to do anything she likes best, eating. Someone forbade her to eat and Marisa saw him - handsome, tall, and familiar. Marissa recognized that eyes. He was William. First, Marisa was ten years older than Wiliam. Now, Wiliam is 10 years older than Marisa. 

The best part of this story is Marisa meet Wiliam in this early time. It makes me surprise because the story is still contact from the beginning to the end. I had bought this book once, but I have been reading this book a lot until now. Another romantic story is the letter from Ferry to Diana. It was written like this:

“If you want to spend a dinner with me, then I promise to spend 36.000 dinners with you”

It mean: If Diana want spend 1 dinner with Ferry, then Ferry will spend 100 years (= 36.000: 360) with Diana.

The weak of this novel is the place isn’t being mention. We can’t imagine where the place exactly. In this novel, there are some mistakes – for examples:

11.      (Page 47) Jummy        : it should be Jimmy

22.      (Page 48) William       : it should be Wiliam

I recommendation you to read this novel because the story is fun and it’s not a thick book to be read.

English Assignment - Holiday Report (Silmi Kaaffah)

Last holiday, my family and I went to Taman Safari. It is located in Cisarua, Bogor. The reason why we choose Taman Safari to spend our holiday is because my little brother and my cousin hasn’t go there yet and then in 2011 Indonesian government had awarded Taman Safari Indonesia as Lembaga Konservasi Terbaik. Unfortunately, one of my sisters can’t come along us because she has some project to do with her friends.

We left early in the morning because we didn’t want to get any traffic light. We go there by two cars. But, when we enter Padalarang toll road, it started to rain. It rain so badly. I’m hoping that when we arrive there it won’t rain anymore.When we enter Puncak, the scenery and the air is really good. But, what I’m expected is not became a reality. When we enter Puncak, it’s rainy and foggy. Besides that, we need to wait for three hours. The road was blocked because of one-way-system that operated in Sunday. Actually, there was a man who offered us some alternative way to go to Taman Safari, but I don’t think that’s a good idea plus my uncle said that the road is bad. So, we decided to wait patiently.

Finally, the road was opened. We continue our trip to Taman Safari. Not far from Taman Safari, my mom and my aunt buy some carrots. They said the carrots are for animal. Finally we arrived at Taman Safari gate. We have to get in line to buy a ticket. After we purchase the ticket, we can go inside. The first arena is Herbivore Wild Road.

 The animals aren’t stay still in their cage. They walk around, even in the road. We can feed animals in here. It’s really fun to feed the animals. There were tame animals, but there was a fierce animal too. For example the fierce animals, when we feed them, their mouth will go into the car. It’s so scary.

In there we can see elephants, zebras, giraffes, impalas, goats, monkeys, some deer, buffalos, and many more. After feeding herbivores, we went to see a hippopotamus. Seeing hippopotamus remind me of Gloria in Madagascar movie. Even in the real life, it’s still funny to see it. 

After that, we went to Carnivore Wild Road. In here we can see lions, tiger, cheetah, etc. We can’t feed the animals, because it’s dangerous. We have to close our windows and locked the door. There are a lot of lions in here. But, I think the animals in here were hungry, because they seems so tired and not excited.

 Besides that, the scenery in here was really good! The air was so fresh and cold because it was rainy when we go there. After we finished Carnivore Wild Road, we went to Amusement Park. There were a lot of games in here. For example; Roller coaster, Ghost House, Carousel, Midair Bicycle, Viking, Swimming Pool, etc.

We also watch animal attraction in Taman Safari. The first one is bird attraction. Unfortunately, my family and I can’t sit down in the chair because it is full, so we watch the attraction while standing. But, it didn’t make any effect to the attraction. In this attraction, we can see an Eagle that really big. The zookeeper chooses one lucky guy from the crowd to help her feed the bird, although at the first he failed, but after he tried again, he finally made it. After that, we saw sea lion attraction. The zookeeper told the sea lions to clap their hands, swimming, playing with the ball, etc. The best part of this show is when the zookeeper ordered the sea lions to splash the water to the crowd. It’s very funny! I feel this show is very entertaining among the other. When I go to lion attraction, the attraction is nerve wrecking to watch. I’m afraid the zookeeper eaten by the lion.

After saw the attraction, we went home because it’s getting late. We went home safely. Such a wonderful day!

English Assignment - Holiday Report (Yasmin Lathifa S)

First I want to tell you about myself. My name is Yasmin Lathifa, I am 16 y.o My holiday was go to Jakarta. Uhm, actually its not holiday, because I went to Jakarta when everybody are in the school, studying. I went to Jakarta Friday night with my junior high school’s friends, so I skip the class in Saturday.

I went to Jakarta for watching the concert. The concert is SM TOWN. SM TOWN is an agency from South Korea. It was one of the three big agency in Korea. The owner of this big agency is Mr. Lee Soo Man. He is very rich and famous people not in Korea, because Korean Wave or we can say K-pop are popular in the world, Mr. Lee was famous too almost in the world.

SM TOWN singer like Super Junior, SHINee, Girls Generation, F(x), BoA, DBSK, Kangta and EXO was very popular in the world. SM TOWN Concert ticket was sold by just a minute. How great is that? And now, SM TOWN Concert is held in our country!!

So, I talk with my father and mother to buy me ticket for watching SM TOWN Concert. At first I think they don’t want to buy me the ticket, but they told me to book the ticket. I was very happy and hug my parents.

Fortunately, my friends is wanted to book the ticket too, so I go with her to Pasteur to swap the online ticket with the real ticket. Here is the photo of SM TOWN ticket concert:

Day by day I’m waiting for the d-day, and the time was so fast and I realize it was Friday 21th September 2012, so the concert is tomorrow! Saturday 22th September 2012.

In the school I was like excited and want to go home faster. Arrived at home, I change my uniform with pajamas because I depart to Jakarta in the evening, and I’m packing my stuff. After I’m done prepared my self and my stuff, I’m saying good bye to my mother and she is telling me to take care and becareful in the trip.

It was 5 pm, and I went to my friend’s home. Yes, I planned to go to Jakarta with 2 my friend. Shalsa and Rizka. In 7 pm we are ready to go, and depart from Rizka’s home. Rizka’s parent is going with us, and on the way to Jakarta, Rizka, Shalsa, and I is talking about how exciting we are to watch the concert together, and what we plan to do when watching the concert.

In 10 pm we were arrived at Rizka father’s apartement, and we look for our bedroom. The three of us sleep together because it more fun then sleep alone. 

In the morning, Rizka was the first to wake up. She wake me up and then told me to take a shower first. I’m done with showering and wearing my clothes, the SM TOWN Concert clothes. 

  Finally, the three of us are ready and eat the breakfast faster than usually. It still 9 am but we already depart from apartement and go to Gelora Bung Karno stadium. Yah, the concert is held in that big stadium. In 10 am we arrived and look the noticement in the street. After see that, we become more exciting.

While waiting, we and the people around us heard the music playing from inside football field. The song was Gee from Girls Generation. Someone says it was the idols were doing rehearsal but someone say too  that the music is to entertain us so we aren’t boring when waiting.

Just then, the song from inside is Hope, the encore song from this concert and someone yelled in the inside “I Love you Indonesiaa!!!” and the outside was like crazy. It was Changmin’s voice, he is one of the best singer in SM Entertaiment.

Finally, it was 4 pm and we can enter to the stadium. I was very happy, but it’s not easy to enter the stadium because everyone want to enter the stadium first.

Inside stadium, we see the stage and it was very shining. But we have to waiting again because the concert is begin in 6 pm.

When the sky is getting dark, we all turn on our light stick. Yes the light stick is Sapphire blue for Super junior, Pink for Girls Generation, Green for SHINee, Red for DBSK, white for EXO, and soft pink for F(x).

In the picture you can see, sapphire blue light stick was very dominant. It means that there are many Super Junior’s fan than the others.

The concert was very spectacular. Many fireworks, balloon, and the idols was more handsome and pretty when you watch them live then from television. Some of the was talking with bahasa like “Aku cinta kalian” “Hai apa kabar kita super junior” but Chanyeol from EXO was saying “Aku cinta saya” and then the stadium was burst out for laughing.

The concert is done in the midnight so three of us go home in the very good mood, but a little bit disappoint because the concert is end.

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was born on May 5, 1988 in North London, England. She was the only child of Penny Adkins, an "arty mom" who was just 18 at the time of her birth, and a Welsh father, Mark, who left the family when Adele was only 4 years old.

Mark, who never married Penny, remained in contact with his daughter up until her teen years, when his problems with alcohol, and increasing estrangement from his daughter, caused their relationship to deteriorate. By contrast, Adele grew close to her mom, who encouraged her young daughter "to explore, and not to stick with one thing."

Early on, Adele developed a passion for music. She gravitated toward the songs of Lauren Hill, Destiny's Child and Mary J. Blige. But her true, eye-opening moment came when she was 15, and she happened upon a collection of Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald records at a local junk shop. "There was no musical heritage in our family," Adele told The Telegraph in a 2008 interview. "Chart music was all I ever knew. So when I listened to the Ettas and the Ellas, it sounds so cheesy, but it was like an awakening. I was like, oh, right, some people have proper longevity and are legends. I was so inspired that as a 15-year-old I was listening to music that had been made in the 40s."

While at school, Adele cut a three-track demo for a class project, which was eventually posted on her MySpace page. When executives at XL Recordings heard the tracks, they contacted the singer and, in November 2006, just four months after Adele had graduated school, signed her to a record deal.

At the 2009 Grammy awards, Adele took home Best New Artist. In addition, the album earned the singer the distinction of being named the "Sound of 2008" by the BBC. That same year, she earned the Critics' Choice prize at the BRIT Awards.

She found herself with two top-five singles and a pair of top-five albums in the same week, the first artist since the Beatles in 1964 to achieve that milestone. Adele also broke the solo female artist record for staying at No. 1 for 11 weeks.

That same year, the singer won an Academy Award for best original song for "Skyfall," the theme song for the 2013 James Bond film of the same name. She also won a Golden Globe Award for the song.
